Vice President Student Team Competition Off 10 Cars teririt

Jakarta - Vice President Boediono removing 10 vehicles made energy efficient students from various universities in the South Parking Lot, Bung Karno, Jakarta, Sunday, May 14, 2011. This innovative vehicle will be included in the Shell Eco-Marathon race in Asia Sepang Circuit, Malaysia, July. Boediono said they were proud to innovation of students in creating energy-efficient vehicles. This achievement proves Indonesia could become more developed countries in the future. "Ego must be set aside," he said when launching the Indonesian team to SEM Asia 2011 in Jakarta, Saturday, May 14, 2011.
This energy efficient car competition challenges students to explore technology. In addition, students are trained to work together to realize the design on paper into tangible form.Vice President hoped ten Indonesian team achievement is better than last year. Institute of Technology student Tim Ten November, Surabaya, came to Malaysia as defending champion last year through Sapuangin car. Urban design their vehicles the best in Asia with 1 liter of gasoline efficiency achievements for 238 kilometers.
Team Institute of Technology kemabli sending two cars Sapuangin with efficiency targets 300 kilometers per 1 liter of fuel. "We are making improvements in weight, engine and vehicle electronics," said Team Manager ITS Anditya Yudhisthira. In the category prototype team is sending energy-efficient cars in the hope that fuel efficiency 1500 kilometers per liter. For the record, last year's title in this category with the level of efficiency achieved Thailand 1,800 kilometers per liter of fuel.
The team from Bandung Institute of Technology did not want to lose. ITB students send one car on the urban category and one other car in the category prototype. Although only targeting efficiency of 100 kilometers per liter of fuel in the urban category, the team came up with a beautiful design of the car body. Last year the ITB team was asked to design a car as a favorite.
Students team of University of Indonesia to Sepang with two energy efficient cars on urban categories and prototypes. This team prepares the car with the efficiency of each of 1,000 kilometers per liter and 500 kilometers per liter. While the University of Gajah Mada (UGM) carrying the two cars that competed in the categories of urban and prototype.Satu surprise comes from the Polytechnic Student Affairs Team Pontianak. This debutant team competed in the prototype category with efficiency targets 1,500 kilometers per liter.
President Director of PT Shell Indonesia, Darwin Silalahi, assess student participation in the international arena is not just accomplishment but also disseminate innovation inspiration to other young people. According to him, the student must take part in the activities of engineering technology, particularly to solve problems in the future energy needs. In the next 30-40 years, the number of vehicles going more and more as fuel becomes more limited. "It should be considered a more efficient machine. Students should be encouraged to find a solution," he said.
SEM Asia 2011 held at the Sepang Circuit, Malaysia, 6-9 July. This year's competition is a second chance for Asian regional. There are categories of competition yat urban concept and futuristic prototypes. In the urban category, participants were asked to create erg efficient machine that can be used on public roads. While the prototype category, participants are welcome to make cars with odd shapes are suitable to be applied in the future. The winner is determined from the large fuel efficiency.
