Judged SMI Wonder So IMF Director

Former Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati they see fit to replace Dominique Strauss-Kahn as Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
"With the resignation of Dominique Strauss-Kahn as IMF managing director since the scandal of sexual abuse, the name Sri Mulyani Indrawati (SMI) was mentioned decent at it by sharing considerations," said Chairman of the National Awakening Party Faction House Marwan Ja'far told the press in Building MPR / DPR, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (05/24/2011).
According to Marwan, Sri Mulyani considered to enhance economic growth in Indonesia. "In addition, developing countries must be given the opportunity to lead the institution, and not monopolized by Europeans. The tradition of the IMF should always be led by the Europeans is unreasonable because it would be better not necessarily because it concerns human resources," he said.
Marwan is also the Chairman of the DPP PKB rate, Sri Mulyani intellectually and experience as Finance Minister and Head of Bappenas RI worthy to lead the IMF.
He said the IMF's experience as Executive Director of Southeast Asia would have been very familiar with the agency. Moreover, coupled with the experience now as Managing Director of the World Bank, Sri Mulyani, would have understood the cultural and international labor standards.
If indeed he is believed to be the Managing Director of IMF, these institutions will have strong credibility and influence in developing countries. As children of the nation of Indonesia, Sri Mulyani would need strong support from the government and people of Indonesia to the post.
"My experience as a leading economist also add weight if elected as Managing Director of IMF. This is where the need for solidarity with developing countries to encourage, at least the countries of the ASEAN region who had just held a summit, to which Indonesia is now the Chairman of ASEAN," he said .
According to Marwan, Indonesia as the Chairman of ASEAN would be very influential to pass Sri Mulyani as Managing Director of IMF.
